Oana Dolea, Lawyer
Oana Dolea is a McGill Faculty of Law graduate and a member of both the Quebec and Ontario Bars. Fluent in English, French and Romanian, Oana articled at the Montreal office of a major Canadian law firm.
Oana has strong substantive knowledge and practical experience in diverse aspects of intellectual property law, especially copyright, and various commercial and financing transactions. She is interested in contractual issues in the context of online commerce and has co-authored and published a case analysis of Dell Computer Corporation v. Union des Consommateurs, a landmark Supreme Court decision dealing with, among other issues, the legal status of clauses accessible by hyperlink in online consumer contracts.
While at law school, Oana worked as a research intern at the McGill Centre for Intellectual Property Policy, served on the McGill Law Students’ Association Council and volunteered with the McGill Legal Clinic. She complemented her legal studies by working as a legal intern at a major law firm in Rome, Italy, where she also perfected her Italian and her love for Italian culture.
Oana’s excellent analytical and written and verbal communication skills allow her to identify efficient solutions to legal problems. Her ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and assimilate new information is key to her capacity to execute legal solutions in a time-effective manner.
